3rd Man TechLab is a Chennai-based product company with one mission: give small and medium businesses the kind of enterprise-grade software and AI that, until now, only large companies could afford.

Every business has two people: the business itself, and its customers and partners. Between them sits a mountain of work nobody sees: orders chased, stock counted, reminders sent, registers updated. Large enterprises hand that work to sophisticated systems and dedicated teams. Most small businesses still carry it on people, paper and spreadsheets. We build the third man: software that quietly takes that work on, so owners and their teams can get on with business. That is what we mean by Engineering the Unseen.

We build mobile apps for the shop floor, web apps for the desk, agentic software that handles the follow-ups in between, and analytics that show the whole business at a glance, in real time. We use AI with purpose, only where it saves real effort, never as a gimmick. We build products, not projects: built once and made better for every business that uses them, priced for small businesses and simple enough to run without an IT department.

We are an early-stage team, founded in 2026, and our products launch soon. If you join now, you will help shape them from the ground up.

What We Expect From You

• Build features end to end: screens in our mobile and web apps, the APIs behind them and the database changes they need.
• Write clean, tested code that is easy for the next person to read and change.
• Work through Git and pull requests, take part in code reviews and learn from the feedback.
• Understand how our users actually work, ask "why", and suggest simpler ways to solve their problems.
• Debug issues down to the root cause and fix them properly.
• Own your tasks from idea to release, and keep the team updated on progress and blockers.
• Pick up new tools, languages and AI techniques quickly as the product needs them.
• Open to learning without limits, whether that is front end, back end, mobile, cloud, data or AI.
• Self-motivated and eager to take on challenges, seeing a hard problem as a chance to grow.
• Good communication skills: able to explain your work clearly, ask questions early, and give and receive feedback openly.

Qualifications

• Very strong knowledge and fundamentals in any of the programming like Python, Java, GoLang etc.
• Experience building native or cross platform experience is mandatory. Flutter and Dart Experience are preferred.
• Experience in Backend stack like FastAPI, REST APIs, WebSockets, etc
• Experience working with any Database/DBtools like PostgreSQL, SQL, Alembic, DataLake, etc
• Having fundamental understanding of Cloud and DevOps concepts like: Docker, nginx, AWS, Firebase, GitHub Actions
• Tools and practices: Git, code reviews, automated testing (pytest), OAuth and JWT
• A degree in any discipline. We care about what you can build and how quickly you learn, not the name of your degree.
